Asif

Asif was a poor child when their parents decided to put him under the foundation supervision in the Residential Bridge Course Programme (RBC) run by the foundation. Asif is the oldest of three siblings.  His parents had to move to Yelahanka (outskirts) where his father’s new employment location was as a carpenter. His mother, a daily wage labourer had no means to put Asif in any school in the vicinity and had requested the Foundation to look after him. He was admitted into the Government Kannada Higher Primary School supported by the Foundation.

That started Asif’s journey at the foundation entering at the very young age of 6 years in class 2 and continued to stay in the facility till he completed his SSLC (High School) in Annaswamy English High School. In 10th standard, Asif secured high grades in the Annual Examination and the Government through Thirupuvanam Foundation awarded him Rs.10,000/- as  prize money to pursue his further studies.

Today, Asif is pursuing a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in the coveted Government Polytechnic by securing highest marks in the SSLC examination. His dream is to become an engineer and support his family to break free from poverty. He is proud to proclaim his association with the foundation. Still he wants to continue one diploma course which we are supporting right now.

All these developments were possible due to his die hard determination and the timely support provided by the foundation.  This is an attest to the fact that a child when encouraged can rise well above his standing.
